Blatter hints at re-election

FIFA president Sepp Blatter has suggested he could stand for re-election when his mandate expires in 2015.

After winning another term in office in 2011 Blatter said it would be his last, but the 77-year-old has since hinted he could stand again.

Blatter, who is currently attending the FIFA Development Seminar in Grand Cayman, feels he still has a lot to offer but remained coy on whether or not he would definitely stand again.

I m now 38 years in FIFA and I have this mission and I want to fulfil my mission, he said.

I feel young enough to be in this office and to make this office a success.

It keeps you young also if you ve got a mission and I ve got a mission.

When asked if he would stand again, he added: My intention is to finish this mandate. We …

Napoli complete Fabian Ruiz signing

As revealed by the club, Italian giants Napoli have officially confirmed the signing of Fabian Ruiz. The 22-year-old midfielder has been considered a promising talent in European football for a while now, making a name for himself with hometown club Real Betis. The youngster appeared in almost every single La Liga game for Betis last season and was an instrumental part of their midfield line-up.

Ruiz also scored three goals last season and will be signing for Napoli on a five-year deal. The Italians will be attempting to bounce back from the disappointment of failing to win the Serie A title in 2017/18 after they pushed favourites Juventus all the way until the final stretch of the season before missing out by just four points.

Now, they ll be more determined than ever …

More injury woes for Everton

Everton suffered a 3-2 defeat at Bolton s Reebok Stadium earlier today. It was their second consecutive defeat but that s not worrying part at the moment. The worrying part for Everton fans and players is the number of players available to boss David Moyes.

Another injury crisis

David Moyes has done a superb job as Everton boss. He has taken Everton from relegation strugglers to a top six Premier League side. I m worried for Everton this season though as with every game another player seems to be added to the treatment room.

Small squad

Everton had one of the smallest squads in the Premier League last season and had three key players out of action. Long term knee injuries to defender Phil Jagielka, midfield star Mikel Arteta and striker Yakubu didn t hin…

Marseille showing interest in Fabian Schar

French giants Marseille are keeping close tabs on Hoffenheim defender Fabian Schar, .

OM are in the market for a new centre-back considering that Rolando’s long-term future at the club is in doubt and the Switzerland international is one of their top targets.

Marseille are unlikely to make their move in the January transfer window, but a summer bid may be on the cards.

Fabian Schar had been one of Europe’s most sought-after footballers when he decided to join Hoffenheim from FC Basel in the summer of 2015, but he has since struggled to prove his worth in German Bundesliga.

After making 24 league appearances during his maiden season, the 25-year-old only featured in five Bundesliga fixtures this term, and he may decide to search for a new club at the …

Fiorentina dismiss Montella

Vincenzo Montella has been dismissed by Serie A club Fiorentina.

Montella took over as head coach at Stadio Artemio Franchi in June 2012 and led the club to fourth in Serie A in his first season in charge, falling just two points shy of the UEFA Champions League places.

Fiorentina have also failed to break their way in to the top three in the last two seasons – again placing fourth in the last two campaigns.

Rumours in recent weeks have suggested that Montella is set to take over at Milan if Filippo Inzaghi is dismissed at San Siro.

A statement from Fiorentina s honorary president Andrea Della Valle subsequently read: The club is waiting to be informed of exactly where our head coach Vincenzo Montella stands, in accordance with what was agreed and the …

The highly rated footballer will be out of contract in the summer and he has a long list of admirers among top European clubs.

Manchester is still red – Depay ahead of Lyon´s clash with City

Memphis Depay insisted Manchester is still red as he stoked the fire ahead of Lyon s Champions League match against Manchester City, while promising to one day reveal what went on with Louis van Gaal during his brief time at Old Trafford.

Former United forward Depay will return to Manchester on Wednesday, French visitors Lyon facing Premier League holders City in their European opener at the Etihad Stadium.

Big things were expected of Depay when he swapped PSV for United but the Netherlands international failed to live up to the hype, only showing glimpses of his potential during his year-and-a-half with the club.

Depay found himself on the outer under Van Gaal before Jose Mourinho arrived and granted the Dutchman a move to Ligue 1 in 2017.
